TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Huawei Device Indonesia officially launched the Huawei Band 8 on Thursday, 25 May 2023. It is hoped that sales will follow suit Huawei Band 7 which claimed to be in demand sold 10,000 units in the first two days of sales.
Huawei Band 8 has a lighter and thinner design than the previous generation with a weight of 14 grams and a thickness of 8.9 mm. The company promises that this product, which sells for Rp. 699 thousand, is comfortable and flexible for use in all active activities and for sleeping.
According to Patrick Ru, Country Head of Huawei Device Indonesia, since it was first launched in 2014, the Huawei Band has been designed to accompany users in living a healthy life. “Therefore, we continue to innovate every year by presenting supporting features that can help users monitor their health,” said Patrick.
According to Deputy Chief Digital Transformation Office, Ministry of Health, Agus Rachmanto, people are increasingly aware of the importance of monitoring every aspect of health. This includes realizing the importance of sleep for a healthy life and monitoring its quality.
He, who was present at the launch of Huawei’s latest smartband, praised the accurate health monitoring features offered by Huawei at an affordable price. The ability to monitor health through smart devices is one of the initiatives to record individual health data which is very useful for knowing current conditions and increasing quick action responses.

Agus then revealed about the program candidate in the Satusehat application–a replacement application for PeduliLindungi. “We are in the process of preparing to achieve a point if people live a healthy lifestyle, such as getting enough sleep,” said Agus. Another possibility, he added, is that application users who are often physically active can later collect reward points in the application.
Monitor and Count More Accurately
Responding to people’s need for a device that is comfortable to use while sleeping, Huawei Band 8 comes with the TruSleep 3.0 feature which is capable of more comprehensive sleep monitoring with an accuracy increase of 10 percent. This feature can also record sleep data in real time and accurately on the screen.
Huawei Band 8 is also equipped with a special sensor that can monitor the user’s stress level and help reduce it through breathing exercises guided by the Huawei TruRelax feature. In addition, it also supports automatic switching between Huawei smartwatches and bands in the Huawei Health App, making it easier for the two devices to integrate with each other.
Huawei Band 8 has a feature that can monitor heart rate more accurately than the previous generation through Huawei TruSeen 5.0 technology which has been increased by 10 percent compared to the previous generation. This feature will automatically recognize the condition of the heart when you are active, exercising or resting.
Not only that, this feature also continuously monitors SpO2 in the blood for 24 hours, as well as allowing the user to know changes in oxygen in the blood. If the SpO2 level is low, there will be an automatic warning displayed on the screen, so that the user is alert to deal with it.
There is also the HUAWEI TruSport feature which has 100 workout modes with more comprehensive data. This smartband can also automatically detect the activities the user is doing while running or while walking to adjust the training plan.
