He would then forge a singular career, going through a total of 18 different clubs and getting to play for Scotland in Dundee alongside Claudio Caniggia and in the Arsenal England for a season. In parallel he would go through South Korea, Cyprus and the third division of Greece.
A distinctive feature of his extensive career was given by his nickname: “Tyson”. In his youth he was compared to the popular American boxer for the supposed resemblance of his face, added to his grim expression and his usual frown.

“I started in Guaraní Antonio Franco. I debuted at 16 and at 17 we were champions in Misiones. Then at 18 I went to Students from La Plata to test me”, he recounted some time ago on RCC TV, a Paraguayan outlet, when remembering his time at the La Plata institution.
In this sense, the former striker explained the reason for his brief stay: “I stayed and I was playing for a while, two or three months. And they told me ‘Fabián there is a problem: the Misiones club does not want to give you the pass. You have to go back to Misiones’. I waited a while and turned”.
“After that my dad got mad and didn’t want me to practice in that club. That was when the possibility of coming to Paraguay arose. Tembetary paid Guarani $100,000 and I joined in 1997”, he summarized by detailing how he got to the Paraguayan league.
CIELOSPORTS.COM contacted Tyson Caballero and the attacker, recalling his time at León, confirmed that although he did not play any selective match at that time, he did play several games in the Fifth Division and also one in the Fourth.
His time in Tembetary would represent his soccer explosion and that would lead him to settle in Cerro Porteño, a club with which in 1998 he would reach the Semifinals of the Copa Libertadores. Almost without realizing it, the following season an unexpected opportunity would come his way.

From City Bell to Highbury: A Missionary at Arsenal
For the 1998/99 season Tyson Knight disembarked on loan at the Arsenal from England. His activity was largely confined to the Gunners Reserve, but on November 11 he finally made his debut for the fourth phase of the League Cup.
It was not a good afternoon for Arsenal, who with a team with a majority of substitutes suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at Highbury against Chelsea. That day he made his debut at 16 in the second part, replacing a certain Dennis Bergkamp in the team of Arsene Wenger.
In total he would play three games for the club: on November 29 he would play 16 minutes in the Premier League in a 1-1 against Middlesbrough and on January 4 another 21 in a 4-2 against Preston North End for the FA Cup. three games would remain on the bench.
After sharing campus with David Seaman, Ashley Cole, Nicolas Anelka, Fredrik Ljungberg, Marc Overmars and Patrick Vieira among others, he would not be taken into account by DT again and would become a regular in the London team’s selective, with 16 PJ and 8 goals.

After spending time in London, he returned to Paraguay, where he had a good season at Sol de América and that allowed him to return to the British Isles, although to play in Scotland. There she landed on the Dundee FCwhere he would be an idol and would share a team with several Argentines.
In their first season they joined Juan Manuel Sara, Alberto Carranza, Walter Del Rio, Alberto Garridothe Spanish Javier Artero who came from San Lorenzo and a certain Claudio Caniggia. Tyson would forge a good bond with the Bird, who would only stick around for that season.
“We rarely see each other, but we are always in contact, technology helps a lot in that. We always talk on the phone or communicate by message. I recently greeted him for his birthday”, he recounted in 2021 in a note he provided in Crónica de Paraguay.
“There is a team of legends that is made up of all the players of all time in the club, there I am, along with Caniggia for example, I did very well there”, he recounted in that same interview. In Scotland he played between 2000 and 2005 with 142 PJ and 27 goals.
His time at Dundee FC has the particularity that in the 2003/04 season, after playing 13 PJ, the club had to release him for a few months for not having a way to pay some salaries. During that time, he trained with the Tacuary squad to stay in shape.

When did Tyson Caballero play in Tacuary?
Those months of 2004 in which he trained alongside the squad of the team that will host Estudiantes in Paraguay today were not his only link with the club. In 2006after a brief stage in Olympia, ended up in Tacuary but it did not last long.
After only six months at the club, in which he only played two games, the striker would live an atypical 2007: during the first semester he played in the South Korean league, while for the second part of the year he would play in the First Division of Cyprus.
After also playing in Chile, Greece and Guatemala, he had a second and last spell with Los Albos: it was in the second semester of 2012where he reinforced the team thinking about the Copa Sudamericana, although he barely played three games for the local tournament and one for the cup.
