“Democratic Party Staff Investigated by KPK in Connection to Mamberamo Regent Corruption Case”

KPK examine Reyhan Khalifa in relation to the corruption case of the non-active Mamberamo Tengah Regent Ricky Ham Pagawan. Reyhan Khalifa is known to be a staff at the DPP Democratic party.

Reyhan Khalifa was examined on Tuesday (23/5). The investigation team questioned Reyhan Khalifa about the flow of money in the vortex of the Ricky Pagawak corruption case.

“The investigation team is exploring the witness’s knowledge, among other things, related to the alleged money flow of the suspect RHP to several parties,” said Head of KPK Reporting Unit, Ali Fikri, to journalists, Thursday (25/5/2023).

Ali said that his party also confiscated billions of rupiah from Reyhan Khalifa. “At the same time, IDR 1.5 billion was confiscated from the witness in question,” said Ali.

Ali mentioned Reyhan’s identity. Apart from being an entrepreneur, Reyhan is a staff member of the political party where Ricky Ham Pagawak belongs. “Entrepreneur/staff at the Democratic Party DPP,” he said.

The KPK was also supposed to examine television presenter Brigita Manohara on Wednesday (24/5). However, Brigita was unable to attend. The KPK will again schedule an examination of Brigita Manohara next week.

“The witness was not present and confirmed to the investigation team to be rescheduled for next week. The KPK reminded them to be cooperative in attending according to the commitment conveyed by the person concerned,” said Ali.

Ricky Pagawak was arrested at his safe house in Abepura, Jayapura, on Sunday (19/2). Previously, Ricky had been a fugitive since July 2022 after fleeing to Papua New Guinea.

KPK investigators have started tracking Ricky’s tracks in Indonesian territory since January 2023. Ricky Pagawak is suspected of going in and out of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea via rat routes.

The KPK has now detained Ricky Ham Pagawak on suspicion of a bribery case. The KPK said that Ricky was suspected of enjoying bribes, gratuities, and money laundering crimes (TPPU) with a total of IDR 200 billion.
