Today EA Sports shows us the new F1 track “Las Vegas Strip Circuit” in F1 23 for the first time!
Electronic Arts today shared the first in-depth look at the FORMULA 1 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX in F1 23. The new circuit will make its virtual debut when the game launches on June 16th. F1 23 will offer fans and even F1 drivers themselves the opportunity to drive the track before the real Grand Prix. It will mark the first time in Formula 1 history that cars will race on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
“Our team has created a beautiful virtual recreation of one of the most exciting and awe-inspiring cities in the world. The sheer size and density of the buildings in Las Vegas was a fun challenge for the team, as was the vibrancy and energy of the strip that will be lit up for Saturday night’s race. It took us a total of over 1,900 days of development to achieve this level of authenticity.” Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director bei Codemasters.
The studio built the Las Vegas Strip Circuit from the ground up using thousands of reference photos and extensive photogrammetry data. The design includes three straights, a high-speed corner and a single chicane. With average speeds on the track comparable to those of the original ‘temple of speed’, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy, drivers will whiz around the 6.12km circuit at speeds of up to 341km/h. The racetrack presents a unique challenge as racers hit top speeds on the Las Vegas Strip past world-famous landmarks, casinos and resorts.
In celebration of the circuit, limited-time Las Vegas-themed items are available for those who pre-order the F1 23 Champions Edition by May 31st, including a special livery, helmet, gloves and hat.
F1 23 will be released on June 16th, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. Those who pre-order the Champions Edition can already enjoy F1 23 on June 13, 2023.
