The President of the Republic participates in the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the European Central Bank
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, arrived tonight in Frankfurt, where he is participating in the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the European Central Bank.
Immediately after his arrival in Frankfurt, President Christodoulidis went to the ECB building, where he was received by the President, Mrs. Christine Langard.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic signed the Guest Book of the European Central Bank.
In the guest book, the President of the Republic wrote the following:
“It is a great honor to be here on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ECB, an important milestone in the EU integration process.”
During the events, the heads of the European institutions, the Chancellor of Germany and Ministers of the Governments of EU member countries, among other official greetings, were addressed by the President of the ECB, the President of the European Parliament Mrs. Roberta Metzola, the President of the European Council Mr Charles Michel, the President of the European Commission Ms Ursula von der Leyen, as well as the German Chancellor Mr Olaf Scholz.
As part of the events, Ms. Langard hosted an official dinner in honor of the guests during which a musical program was performed.
At the end of the events, Ms. Langard cut the ECB’s “birthday” cake, in the presence of all the guests.
