The police are at Glassmagasinet in the center of the capital following a report of a man acting out. The police are now looking for three people.
– We have not arrested anyone, but checked someone who turned out not to be the right person, says the head of the police, Karl Otto Bratt, to VG at 17.50.
– We have received information that a person has behaved threateningly with everything from karate kicks in the air to kicking a rubbish bin. Several people have heard that someone has said that he had a gun, but no one reports to us that they have seen a gun, says Bratt.
VG’s reporter at the scene says that the police have taken care of a man, and that they went through a bag. The man was taken away in handcuffs, but was later checked out of the case.
Operations leader Tonje Brandrud tells VG’s reporter at the scene that the police are looking for a total of three people.
– We are now talking to many witnesses, and are working to get a broader picture of what happened. The message sent to us was serious. We have a description of the person, but it varies. It is about three men, one of whom possibly had a gun.
– We are looking for all three, and think they may have information for us, says Brandrud.
Mission leader Bratt says that orders have been given to arm the police during the mission.
– We received varying messages that led us to believe that a person had a weapon. This meant that we used protective equipment and weapons. There has been a massive search in the area, but we have not met any people matching the description. There was no threat inside, and no one was injured. We are taking the campaign down a bit now, says task leader Brandrud.
The man in question is not said to have posed a danger to others or threatened individuals, but it was his behavior itself that was threatening, explains Bratt.
– We work with patrols in the area. There are many patrols searching the cityscape, says the mission leader.
The case is updated!
