Burgas now has a Planetarium – the new center of science and knowledge / PHOTOS/

Burgas can now boast of a new landmark – Planetarium.

It was officially opened by the mayor Dimitar Nikolov and the general director of DPPI Mr. Petar Seferov. The facility was built by the Port Infrastructure State Enterprise.

I want to thank the excellent partnership with the Port Infrastructure State Enterprise, as well as the builder who executed this complex project, because most of its elements had to be imported from abroad. I also thank the architectural office that prepared this project so that good things happen in Burgas. To those who claim that in Burgas they are taking away berths, I want to say: There are plenty of berths in Burgas, as long as there is cargo. We are not taking away shipping berths, we are becoming more of a maritime city. In addition to the vast space, films for children that are related to ecology will also be screened here. Here will be a center of knowledge and science, and today is the most suitable date for its openingMayor Dimitar Nikolov said.

As if in a fantasy scenario, children dressed as stars came out of the spherical building of the Planetarium to transport everyone present to the mysterious world of the galaxy with their magical dances.

After the water light ceremony, eager visitors were able to touch the magic of the universe, watching 2D and 3D visualizations in real time using the latest equipment.

During the celebration, the youngest visitors took part in exciting art workshops and made models of planets.

In the “PlanetUm” children’s science center, the children participated in fun space-themed games. For all children wishing to visit the Planetarium and observe galaxies, planets and constellations, the entrance on June 1 during the entire working day from 10.30 to 19.00 will be free.

The planetarium is the next step of the DP “Port Infrastructure” in the direction of development of the public access area of the port.

The buildings of the Maritime Station, the emblematic Coastal Traffic Management Center and the Congress Center, built by DPPI, as well as the renovated Magaziya 1, form the urban environment on the seashore, which is beloved by citizens of Burgas and guests of the city.

Every day from Monday to Sunday, from 10.30 to 19.00, the modern facility will provide an opportunity for young and old to touch the magic of the universe.

Curious visitors will be able to observe 2D and 3D visualizations in real time, using the latest equipment. On the occasion of Children’s Day – June 1, the Planetarium will welcome little lovers of galaxies, planets and constellations for free throughout the day.

Located in an attractive location in the Public Access Zone in the Burgas East Port Terminal area and close to the Congress Center, the Planetarium attracts attention with its non-standard architectural solution.

The facility is a gleaming spherical metal structure with a projection dome 8 meters in diameter.

The modern building provides easy access for people in a disadvantaged position and allows for the organization of group visits, the holding of external classes in geography, physics and astronomy for students from Burgas and the region.

The secrets of the vast Cosmos can be observed by 50 people at the same time.

With the construction of the Planetarium, part of the “PlanetUm” Science Center, DPPI completes the overall concept of shaping a single urban educational center, where children and parents can acquire new knowledge and skills through an encounter with science in a fun and exciting way.

It is expected that the newly built facility will become a preferred attraction for the residents and guests of Burgas.
