“Cantabria Covid-19 Update: Hospitalizations Drop, No New Deaths Reported”

SANTANDER, 24 (EUROPA PRESS)

The number of hospitalized for coronavirus in Cantabria has dropped to eleven this Tuesday, two less than the previous day, although one person remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Cantabria detected a total of 10 new cases of Covid-19 in people over 60 years of age yesterday, which is five less than on Monday, while the rest of the indicators continue for another day without significant changes.

According to the latest data from the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS) corresponding to the end of May 23, in the last seven days 71 new cases have been recorded in people over 60 years of age -the only group for which transmission data is given-, which amount to 130 if 14 days are taken into account.

The cumulative fourteen-day incidence in the elderly has risen 3 points from the previous day, up to 74 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, and remains at 41 to seven days.

Both parameters are at low risk, although Cantabria as a whole remains at controlled risk.

With the 11 hospitalized, bed occupancy has dropped to 0.7%, while one patient remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with an occupancy rate of 0.9%.

Of the total admitted, six are in the Marqus de Valdecilla Hospital, including the ICU; three in Sierrallana; and two at the Laredo Hospital.

In addition, no new deaths from Covid have been reported, with which the number of victims since the start of the pandemic in Cantabria remains at 1,025.
