“Match Abandoned: FC Pata vs. TJ Nafta Gbely – Regional Championship Drama”

PATA, GBELY, BRATISLAVA. It was a bizarre start. A trio of referees and eleven home players in blue-red jerseys marched onto the pitch.

The whistle blew, there was no shortage of greetings to the spectators. Immediately, the referees and the home players left the pitch.

Match of the 26th round of the Regional Championship – IV. of the ZsFZ league between FC Pata and TJ Nafta Gbely did not take place. The guests refused to join the meeting.

Both sides have their own version of why this happened.

Already sharpened in autumn

The match between these two teams was heated already in the fall. Gbely beat Pata 1:0 at home, but at the end of the match three players were sent off. Two after the second yellow cards and fouls, with which they ruined promising actions, the third for insulting the referee.
