Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite – A Celebration of Diversity and Inclusion!

Anyone who has ever been to Disneyland will know that the fun doesn’t go away with the sun, but rather continues as the night progresses. The place preferred by boys and girls from all over the world —also by a considerable part of adults— never stops, and from this year it will continue with the same energy… And betting strongly on diversity.

Disney has already officially communicated that this 2023 will host the first LGBT Pride celebrations, more specifically during two nights of the month of celebration, June. will bear by name Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite, and it will be for the whole community queer and their allies.

Although it may surprise many fans of the company, It is not the first time that the minds behind the Mickey Mouse conglomerate think of the LGTBiq+ Community in their products. Without going any further, two of his great premieres from last year, Lightyear y Strange worldincluded characters that were openly queer with scenes in which it was as natural as possible.

Besides, the fans had already been demanding a certain representation in their films and series. Marvel Studios had already done the same with titles like Eternalsalthough in other projects such as Frozen or Star Wars the rumors of the spectators could match the canon and they saw idyllic couples with the characters of Oscar Isaac y John Boyega or they directly spoke of Queen Elsa as a lesbian woman. There is no doubt: a large part of the Disney public wanted to see their community represented in the great universe that the company forms, and now they will finally achieve it with an event that seems designed to the millimeter for everyone.

When will they be held?

The events will take place on June 13 and 15, and include access to the park after normal hours, entertainment and thematic actions in its streets, all kinds of events and elements to photograph, menu and specific merchandising and much more. As for the hours, they will go from six in the afternoon to nine at night, finishing off with a private party from said time to one in the morning. Throughout the period, attendees will be able to ride the attractions.

Of course you cannot miss the Parade, renamed Pride Nite on Main Street with the great protagonists of the place: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, el pato Donald y Daisy con outfits specific to the occasion. They are joined by other characters such as Stitch at the Ohana Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, as well as all kinds of complementary activities.
