ABU DHABI, 23rd May, 2020 (WAM) — The People’s Republic of China is participating in the 32nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which kicked off yesterday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

He added, “The Chinese participation in the exhibition confirms the importance of the distinguished historical and cultural relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Chinese Republic through its participation in a large delegation consisting of 40 participants from officials, publishers, intellectuals and writers from all over China, in addition to the participation of eight programs in which cultural and professional events and more than 50 Chinese publishing houses whose participation varied between academic, educational, literary and others, and this participation is the largest in any international exhibition.

He pointed to the diversity of Chinese participation in various activities, including a “symposium on the exchange of copyrights and a symposium on China’s experience in self-publishing and its future, in addition to the” Chinese-Arab Copyright Forum” and the “Forum for Dialogue of Asian Civilizations – Arab-Chinese cooperation in the field of publishing – prospects and opportunities” in the presence of speakers. two china.

More than 700 books translated from Chinese into Arabic, and 300 books for teaching the Chinese language, are also participating, given that UAE schools are full of Chinese language schools.

He pointed out that the Chinese pavilion is witnessing a very large turnout, especially from Emirati students and the Emirati public, to get acquainted with the Chinese culture.

He noted that today a symposium was held entitled “Chinese Literature through Arab Eyes” on the famous Chinese novel “Al-Mirsal”, which was published by the House of Wisdom Group for Culture. The novel “Al-Mirsal” was written by Chinese writer Liu Liang Cheng, head of the Xinjiang Writers’ Union, and translated into Arabic by Dr. Yahya Mukhtar, which is a text Contrasting and unique adventure in a strange world steeped in fantasy and Chinese mythology.
