Free Textbooks Expected to Arrive Despite Lawsuit Filed by National Union of Parents

The Secretary of Education (SEDEQ) in the state, Martha Elena Soto, trusts that the Free textbooks arrive next school yeardespite the injunctions issued against the printing of these by the National Union of Parents (UNPF).

And it is that, said organization filed a lawsuit of amparo against the printing of the free books for the 2023-2024 school year since, he affirms, they were designed without consulting the educational community.

“Regarding the formal notifications of textbooks, a few days ago we had a meeting of education secretaries with the SEP, and when he asked what was happening with the books, they told us not to have pending,” said.

He affirmed that up to now this is the information that is officially available, so the proceeding from the parents has not been notifiedpending any information and process that this generates and is communicated by the federal authority.

He indicated that the free textbooks are the tools so that students and faculty can work in compliance with school criteria, so they are aware of these.

Regarding parents in Querétaro who have been dissatisfied with the content of the free textbooks, the official said that up to now there is no particular complaint or notion of what the new editions of these books contain.
