“The Volcanic Surface and Internal Structure of Venus”

1. Pernukaan Planet Venus

Almost the entire surface of the planet Venus consists of volcanic land. The characteristics of the planet Venus are caused by having many volcanoes. There are about 167 volcanoes on the planet Venus, which is more than there are volcanoes on Earth.

The surface of Venus has evidence of volcanic activity and sulfur in the atmosphere indicates that there has been a volcanic eruption. However, this does not mean that Venus is more volcanically active than Earth, this is due to its older crust.

The highest mountain on Venus is Maxwell Montes which is located in Ishtar Terra. Its height is approximately 11 kilometers above the average surface elevation of Venus. There are 12 lightning bolts on the planet Venus. Even so, there is no rain on the planet Venus like on Earth. It is possible that the lightning that appears on Venus was produced by ash from volcanic eruptions.

2. Internal Structure of the Planet Venus

The next characteristic of the planet Venus is its deep structure which has a resemblance to Earth. The internal structure of Venus and Earth is similar, such as having the same crust, core and mantle. However, Venus is smaller than Earth because it has lower internal pressure. Located close to Earth, aka side by side, which makes Venus have a liquid planetary core. This is due to cooling on the same snow as Earth.

Venus does not have plate tectonics, which causes the amount of Venus’ heat to decrease, thus inhibiting the cooling of the planet. The absence of plate tectonics occurs due to the crust of the planet Venus being too strong and the absence of water which can reduce the viscosity of the planet Venus.
