The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office has proposed to the chief prosecutor to request the immunity of the deputy D.D. According to NOVA, it is about Delyan Dobrev, and the motive is the continuation of criminal prosecution against him.
The proposal was prepared by a prosecutor from the “Specialized” department at the SGP in connection with a pre-trial proceeding in which the national representative is accused of the alleged crime of intentional bankruptcy on a particularly large scale and representing a particularly serious case.
The allegations are that the crime was committed by the People’s Representative in his capacity as Minister of the Economy, Energy and Tourism, who did not exercise sufficient control over the work of the Executive Director and the Board of Directors of “BEH” EAD, to whom it was assigned the management and disposal of public property, by not organizing, coordinating and controlling the implementation of the state policy in the field of energy in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers to terminate the construction of the Nuclear Power Plant at the Belene site, confirmed by a decision of the National Assembly, and not implementing control on a matter within his competence. According to the supervising prosecutor, this resulted in significant damages for the enterprise – “NEK” EAD (subsidiary of “BEH” EAD), in the amount of 4,561,697.27 euros in total.
