“Slavia Prague’s Curious Goal Against Slovan Liberec’s Female Footballers: A Controversial Finish to the First League”

The female footballers of Slovan Liberec still had a chance at the weekend for the third place in the first league, and thus for participation in the qualification of the Champions League. But they lost to Slavia 0:1, with a very curious goal. The North Bohemian goalkeeper was helping an injured opponent when the ball landed in her net. The head of the Prague club, Jaroslav Tvrdík, also apologized for the unfair treatment.

It was the 79th minute of the match when one of the players fell to the ground in pain, and the home goalkeeper Ivana Pižlová immediately went to check on her to see if she needed emergency help.

But in the meantime, the seamed footballers continued their offensive action and the Kenyan striker Marjolen Wafula Nekesa cleared the ball to the post.

According to the referees, a regular goal, the players went to play and the match ended 0:1. As a result, the North Bohemians definitively lost their chance for third place in the table, and therefore also qualification for the Champions League.

The embarrassing situation during the winning goal did not leave Slavia boss Jaroslav Tvrdík cold either, who sent an apology on social media.

“I personally apologized to the owner of the club today. An apology letter is sent from the management of the Slavist women’s team,” wrote Tvrdík on Twitter.

“Similar behavior is contrary to Slavia’s new code of ethics. The shooting player did not see the situation, but the coaches and players should have resolved the situation in a fair way,” added the head of the red and white club.

Slavia’s soccer players secured their title defense two weeks ago and can look forward to the prestigious Champions League.

A curious moment, in which the goalkeeper also played the main role, was also seen in the men’s top competition at the weekend. Bohemians goalkeeper Jiří Valeš moved the ball in front of him in an attempt to pass, but Sparta striker Jan Kuchta remained behind him in the goal, who robbed him of the ball.

Valeš then fouled in an attempt to get the ball back, and Letenští started their way from the penalty to turn around at the final 2:1, after which they are only one point away from the title.
