On Monday, five families from Pergamine agreed to the right to their own home. With this delivery, the work that had been paralyzed is finished, leaving an unfinished neighborhood.
On Monday at noon, the general administrator of the Housing Institute (IVBA), Diego Menéndez, arrived in the city of Pergamino to deliver five houses that had been paralyzed in 2019 and were reactivated by the Buenos Aires government at the end of last year.
The work is part of the Terminations and Renegotiations program, promoted by the Ministry of Habitat and Urban Development, which seeks to complete those homes and infrastructure works that were paralyzed during the previous administration.
“One of our objectives is that there are no half-finished homes. We made a commitment, we finished this neighborhood and we are very happy about it,” said the administrator.
To close the construction of the houses, the Province invested more than $17 million. The houses where five families from Pergamine will live are located on Mendoza and Ricardo Johnm streets, they are between 57 and 65 m², and represent the completion of a neighborhood of 93 houses that began almost twenty years ago.
This work was carried out together with the Mutual 22 de Abril cooperative through the Solidarity with entities operation. Its owner, Susana Canal, thanked Menéndez and the Ministry of Habitat and Urban Development for having closed this housing project. “Today the neighborhood is a reality,” she affirmed.
As in each delivery, and with the aim of promoting care for the environment from homes, the Provincial Agency for Social and Urban Integration (OPISU) gave away seedlings for gardens and native plants from Buenos Aires to the beneficiary families.
In addition, from the Provincial Cultural Institute and the National Ministry of Culture, each family received books from different Buenos Aires publishers and paintings with replicas of different works of art, under the curatorship of the Emilio Petorutti Museum of Fine Arts.
The Administrator was accompanied during the delivery ceremony by the Undersecretary for Sociocultural Promotion, Lorena Riesgo; the councilors Leticia and Marcela Conti, Laura Clark and Macarena García Santander; the president of the Frente de Todos bloc, Alvaro Reynoso; councilors Guillermo Aiello and Héctor Cattaneo; and, on behalf of Habitat from the Ministry of Community Development (PBA), Cristian Juhant.
