JetBlue Flight 137 Passengers Wear Oxygen Masks Due to Air Decompression

A video that went viral on social networks this Monday morning showed how the passengers of flight 137 of the airline JetBluewho was heading from New York City to Santiago de los Caballeros, put on oxygen masks due to a supposed “decompression of air”, which occurred several minutes after taking off.

Free Daily contacted the airline who confirmed that the aircraft presented a problem with the pressurization system. They indicated that the flight returned to the NY airport and that it landed without any inconvenience.

“We sincerely apologize to our customers for this experience, and will provide full refunds as a goodwill gesture,” an airline spokesperson told DL.

They indicated that they are still investigating the causes of the incident and that they have withdrawn the aircraft so that it can be investigated.

The passengers are already on a new flight to the Cibao International Airport (STI).
