US pop singer Janet Jackson has auctioned more than 800 items from her personal collection of costumes, jewellery, trophies and other items.
A highlight of the auction on Sunday (local time) in New York was her silver-colored Aston Martin Vanquish, model year 2003. The British sports car with black leather seats achieved over 92,000 dollars (around 85,000 euros), as announced by the auction house Julien’s Auctions.
Thousands of collectors and fans from all over the world bid online and on the phone, the auction house said. Part of the proceeds will go to a children’s charity.

Jackson, who had risen to become one of the most successful pop and soul singers in the world with albums like “Control” (1986) and “Janet” (1993), last released the album “Unbreakable” in 2015.
In mid-April, Jackson celebrated the start of their “Together Again” tour in the US state of Florida.
