Thanks to the acceptable quality and price of its products, it has become one of the largest retailers in the country in recent years. However, Lidl does not lag behind the current trends in the field of renewable sources, so it has included in its offer under the popular brand
PARKSIDE and balcony photovoltaic power plant.

It will of course be possible to purchase it both at branches and on the company’s e-shop. The photovoltaic set in the basic design offers a power of only 150 watts, but Lidl offers the option of extension up to 600 watts. For a starting price of under five thousand crowns, customers will get both a photovoltaic panel and a smart inverter, which can be connected to a mobile application and thus monitor current production in the Lidl Home application, for example.

Thanks to the fact that the set is modular, it can be expanded up to 600W with a better inverter and other panels, which is already enough power for many smaller appliances. The package also includes mounting material, thanks to which the panels can be attached to the balcony railing.

However, the photovoltaic set itself is currently only available in Germany, where the use of photovoltaic power plants on balconies is significantly more used than in our country. This is also definitely prevented by our legislation, which is not very kind to these installations. In Germany, the installation of a small balcony power plant does not require a permit or an electrician to check the connection. However, the only requirement is to register with the authorities, which only takes a few minutes online and is free.

Whether we will see similar cheap solutions that would also help households in a panel house to reduce their electricity bills is still a question of the future. Community energy solutions, which are an important part of the development of renewable resources, are already faltering significantly in the country.
