The founder of the “Skims” brand and mother of four children spoke candidly about the challenges of raising children in a clip of the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast.
“Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that statement couldn’t be truer,” Kardashian said. “Especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding and there’s a ruckus going on.”
“It’s the best kind of chaos, though,” she added.
Kardashian has four children together with ex-husband Kanye “Ye” West – North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.
They married in 2014 in a lavish ceremony in Europe, but Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021. The divorce was finalized in 2022.
“There are nights when I cry myself to sleep,” Kardashian admitted in the clip, adding that playing “the good cop and the bad cop” is another challenge she faces as she works to “be a little tougher” when her kids don’t listen .
Early morning workouts, often documented on social media accounts, prepare her for the “craziness” of the day, she said, but there are evenings when she feels like she won’t make it through the next hour.
Kardashian says there are lessons to be learned from the chaos, and says parenthood has taught her more about herself than she could have ever imagined.
“You’re never ready, but you’ll figure it out,” she said. “It will make you proud of yourself for figuring it out and making it through the day.”
However, Kardashian says she wouldn’t trade her motherhood for anything. “It’s the most challenging and rewarding job on the planet,” she said.
