An unidentified flying object or unidentified flying object (UFO) detected in the airspace of Gaziantep Airport, Turki. The incident forced the closure of the airport for 12 hours, with at least 26 flights at the airport having to be cancelled.
As reported Hurriyet Daily NewsMonday (22/5/2023), a flying object The unidentified person was detected by the cockpit crew of two passenger planes at an altitude of 9,000 feet or about 2,743 meters in the southern province of Gaziantep on Saturday (20/5) midnight local time.
The pilots reported the situation to the Gaziantep Air Traffic Control (ATC) Water Tower. It is known from local officials that the local ATC operators also confirmed the existence of the unidentified flying object.
Not further explained the shape or form of the unidentified flying object. The origin of the flying object in the air is also not known clearly.
When the incident occurred, a number of flights had to be suspended at Gaziantep Airport. Several planes scheduled to land at Gaziantep Airport were diverted to a number of airports in other provinces, such as Sanliurfa and Adana.
The incident forced flight operations at Gaziantep Airport to temporarily close. A total of 26 flights, consisting of 13 departure flights and 13 arrival flights, had to be canceled as a result.
Flight operations at the airport were back to normal after 12 hours, with hundreds of passengers waiting for flights.
