Free Bicycle Safety Training for Elementary School Children in Klosterneuburg

KLOSTERNEUBURG. Pupils from five schools and ten classes from Klosterneuburg took part in the bicycle safety training for elementary school classes in Happyland from May 9th to 17th, 2023. This was possible thanks to the support of the municipality of Klosterneuburg and the city councilor responsible for education, families and women, Maria Theresia Eder, as well as in cooperation with Austria’s leading children’s bike manufacturer woom.

The two-hour courses were supervised and led by certified cycling instructors from the “FahrSicherRad” cycling school. The focus was on preparing children for safe behavior on the road and how to deal with other road users correctly. Beginners were accompanied in individual and group exercises to learn how to ride a bike step by step. In addition, the courses serve as preparation for the voluntary bicycle test, which is possible from the age of ten.

“There is probably no more suitable place in Klosterneuburg than Happyland with its infrastructure,” comments Happyland Managing Director Wolfgang Ziegler on the initiative. “The topics of mobility and climate protection are becoming more and more important in all planning and decisions here in Happyland. We have improved the infrastructure for cyclists and set up the first cycling offers. The free cycling courses for elementary schools should be available again in 2024!”
