Pro-Jokowi Party “Projo” to Announce Presidential Candidate Support in October

Volunteers Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in Central Java (Central Java) and East Java officially supported Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election. Pro Jokowi chairman (Projo), Budi Arie Setiadi responded to this.

Budi Arie said, in principle Projo Waiting for instructions regarding the person who will be elected in the presidential election later. he mentioned, Projo will announce this in October.

“The point is, we want the 2024 election to be cool, no need to get heated. Right. Just wait, if Projo just wait, October is still a long time away,” said Budi Arie while attending the Activist 98 Halal Bihalal event and launching the 98 Cares Foundation at the JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta, Sunday (21/5/2023).

Budi also did not give a clear answer when asked who Projo would support in the future. Including the matter of Prabowo Subianto, who was mentioned as a presidential candidate, who was alluded to by Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in his speech at the People’s Meeting (Musra) last week.

Budi said that everyone could interpret the figure Jokowi meant. He emphasized that his party would announce the figure in October.

“There are those who interpret Pak Prabowo, there are those who interpret Pak Ganjar, that’s fine. There are those who interpret Pak Airlangga as well. Because those who understand economics and so on,” he said.

“October we will take a stand, wait for it, it will come when we have taken a stand. Because Pak Jokowi may not be open, but Projo can’t be neutral, right,” he added.

As previously reported, Gibran and Jokowi volunteers from Central Java and East Java officially supported Prabowo Subianto as the 2024 presidential candidate. There were several considerations for Gibran and Jokowi volunteers supporting Prabowo as a presidential candidate compared to Ganjar Pranowo. Prabowo is seen as committed to continuing Jokowi’s ideas.

“After consolidating at Loji Gandrung, consolidating Central Java and East Java, we narrowed down our voices to one name Prabowo. Considerations because Prabowo’s commitment to RI was extraordinary and decided Pak Jokowi’s ideas in the future to continue the programs that had been initiated,” said the volunteer coordinator Gibran as well as the inviting party, Strong Hermawan Santosa, Friday (19/5/2023).
