HP OfficeJet printers affected by fatal update

HP has released an update for the OfficeJet series of printers. It is a pity that it has not been properly tested, because many users end up with useless equipment with which nothing can be done.

Fatal HP update

More and more people are reporting huge problems with HP OfficeJet printers after the last update. The official support forum is burning with reports of dissatisfied users. And they have reason to be dissatisfied. After installing the update, the printers stop working and touch screens display a blue screen with error code 83C0000B.

Can anything be done about it? Sorry but no. Even simply restoring the printer to factory settings requires touch screen operation. Unfortunately, this one displays an error and does not respond to anything. At the moment, the only way to recover working hardware is to send it to HP service.

The affected printers include the HP OfficeJet 902x series, including the Pro 9022e, Pro 9025e, Pro 9020e All-in-One and Pro 9025e All-in-One. If you have one of these or one of the other models in the series, it’s best to disconnect your device from the internet, because the update is downloaded automatically.

HP is aware of the seriousness of the problem and is already working on a solution. Anyone affected by the vulnerability should contact the company’s support department.

Look: Do you have such a printer? Don’t be surprised when it stops working
