Makkoshotyka’s Football Team Reunites for Hátsó Füves Football Rescue Tour with András Telek playing for Zempléni Főnix Team.

This year’s Hátsó grass football rescue tour reached its third stop: after Hercegkút and Nagyrozvágy, the local team, which had been broken up for years, got together for a match in Makkoshotyka on Saturday. András Telek also appeared in the colors of the traveling team Zempléni Főnix, the former 24-time national football player voluntarily joined the initiative, indicating that he would like to participate in the series of programs that revive the village football communities.

Before the match, as the guest of honor at the Makkoshotyka football festival, the former Ferencváros player handed over the child-sized Hungarian national team shirt to the mayor Ferenc Kántor, which was part of the Hungarian Football Association’s gift package of balls and sports equipment intended for the people of Makkoshotyka. Makkoshotyka is already a recurring venue, last year the traveling project team played a memorable match in the village with the participation of István Pisont.

This time, many local children and young people visited the forest pitch hidden between the mountains. In the early summer heat, the audience could see beautiful Makkoshotyka attacks, many missed home chances and finally a 5-1 victory for Zempléni Főnix. The Hátsó grass football rescue tour, which is run as a civil organization and takes place with the cooperation of the National Sport and the Kazinczy Ferenc Museum, will continue on Sunday, June 4, at Györgytarlo in Bodrogközi.
