Tokyo: US President Joe Biden asked the Prime Minister for his autograph during the G7 Summit in Hiroshima. Biden echoed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s comments that Modi’s popularity poses a tough challenge.
Prime Minister Albanese of Australia said that the main need of the people of his country is to participate in the programs where Prime Minister Modi speaks. Biden also supported it.
Modi is scheduled to meet CEOs of major Australian companies, businessmen and Indian immigrants here in Sydney on Tuesday. The Prime Minister, who has accepted the invitation of Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden, will also visit the US next month. Both have invited Modi to have dinner at the White House.
Albanese also openly said that it is not possible to accommodate all those who want to listen to Modi’s speech at the event in Sydney. Because the event will be held in a venue that can seat 20,000 people. People have already booked the tickets. More people asked for tickets but they could not provide them.
The Australian Prime Minister also talked about his visit to India this year. Albanese was welcomed by 90,000 people at the event held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
“You really challenge me. I want to have dinner with you in Washington next month. Our whole country is waiting for your presence. Don’t think you’re kidding. Just ask my team. I am telling the truth. I get phone calls from people I’ve never seen or heard from. From movie stars to close relatives, they are among them. “You are so popular,” said Biden.
You have influence over everything, including the Quad conference. The positions you take on the Indo-Pacific region and the fight against climate change cannot be missed. “You are bringing change,” Biden added.
Before the summit, Modi held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Strengthening cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and new developments in the region were discussed in the meeting. The two leaders discussed cooperation in the fields of education, skill development, tourism, digital public infrastructure, fight against terrorism and reform of the United Nations.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Prime Minister for planting the Bodhi tree in Hiroshima, which was gifted to him during his visit to India. The Prime Minister also met the President of South Korea and the Prime Minister of Vietnam. The Prime Minister also beheaded Gandhi’s statue in Hiroshima.
