Johnny Depp (59) returns to the screen as the King of France. At the festival in Cannes, France, he presented his new film entitled Jeanne du Barry – The King’s Mistress. After a protracted court battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp is back in full force. The film, in which he plays the main role, opened this year’s 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. A movie called Jeanne du Barry – The King’s Mistress tells the story of a scheming courtesan’s relationship Jeanne (Maiwenn) and King Louis XV, who causes a scandal at the royal court. The lead actress is also the director of the historical drama that helped Depp back to prominence.

When Depp went through the cast of the film, he thought there had been a mistake. “I thought it was a typo.
