Russian Embassy in Egypt Criticizes Ukrainian President’s Participation in Arab Summit

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Russian embassy in Egypt criticized the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the activities of the Arab summit, which was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.

The Russian embassy in Egypt said, in a statement posted on Twitter, on Saturday: “The head of the Nazi Kiev regime, who is linked to Israel by blood ties, attended the main Arab political event and dared not only to blatantly lie about the roots and development of the Ukrainian crisis, but also to directly condemn for the neutral Arab position on this crisis, as well as for preserving the good relations of the Arab countries with Russia,” according to the statement.

The Russian embassy statement added that another “brazen and clumsy” attempt by the United States of America to put pressure on its Arab allies had “failed.”

And the statement continued: “The other shameless and clumsy attempt by Washington through its allies to put pressure on the member states of the League of Arab States failed, which was already announced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the host country for the summit at the end of the summit’s activities.”

The statement praised what it considered Arab neutrality towards the Russian wars in Ukraine, saying: “Our Arab friends remain committed to a neutral position on the situation around Ukraine.”

The statement of the Russian embassy in Egypt sparked controversy on social networks, generating a wave of mixed comments towards it.
