“Congress fulfills in 2 hours what CPM couldn’t in 3 years: VT Balram mocks Kerala government’s unfulfilled election promises”

Palakkad – After the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka approved in principle the Congress’s election promises, Congress leader VT Balram has come forward to mock the Kerala government. He raises the question of what is the status of the election promises made by the CPM in Kerala when the Congress government in Karnataka is implementing its election promises within just two hours of coming to power.

Balram pointed out that the CPM, which had promised to increase the welfare pension to Rs 2,500, has not been able to implement it even in its third year of rule. Moreover, he also mocked that welfare pension is arrears for up to three months.

In Karnataka, Congress had said in its election manifesto that it would pay Rs 2,000 per month to the head of the family. It took the Congress just 2 hours of coming to power to fulfill that promise.

The CPM had similarly promised the people of Kerala through its manifesto before the election that the welfare pension would be increased to Rs 2500. Even after 2 years since coming back to power, CPM is not ready to increase even 100 rupees. Moreover, the welfare pension is now due for 3 months.

Because all the tax money in the exchequer is squandered for other purposes, it is possible to pay the pension by taking a loan in the KIFB model. This means that even a measly amount of pension has been turned into a burden on future generations.
