“I create a place for creative people to collaborate with skilled and diverse tailors, fashion designers and artisans from all over the world. Why just buy another person’s designs when you can create your own? We can all collect, appreciate and be influenced by the designs of others people. But the highest form of self-expression – and I think it’s the most fun – is to create for yourself,” Jolie said in a statement posted on her personal Instagram page.
The concept of the fashion house Atelier Jolie assumes that clients will design clothes, and dressmakers will embody their ideas.
Unused materials will be used to create unique products.
The brand’s team will include craftsmen from different nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds, including refugees and people from other “vulnerable groups”.
“The project will help share the richness of cultural heritage and support the development of (fashion) initiatives,” said the Hollywood actress.
Customers will also have the opportunity to have their old clothes repaired.
