The film is visually masterful, it is a great tribute to all the previous works of the franchise and at the same time an almost touching chronicle of the passage of time, aging.

We meet the central hero for the first time during the war, when he has to deal with the Nazis again, and the fact is that special technology has rejuvenated Ford beyond belief.

The filmmakers used artificial intelligence to manipulate unused footage from previous films so the actor looks exactly as we remember him.

“It’s unbelievable what today’s technology can do, the tricks are fantastic. But they are just tricks. I myself am satisfied with my age, I have no need to get younger. I’m really happy: youth is beautiful, but I’m as old as I am, and I’m still working. So it’s all good,” said Ford, who actually looks paradoxically better than Indiana Jones on screen.

After the aforementioned prologue, we meet him in his New York apartment as an old abandoned man.

But, you know it… A young woman (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), whom Indy knew as a little girl, shows up and tells him something that piques the new retiree’s interest.

It concerns a certain Archimedes’ invention, which is also coveted by the old Nazi gang, led by Jones’s opponent in this piece, excellently played by Mads Mikkelsen.

After all, he noted on the press release that when he saw Raiders of the Lost Ark as a boy, he first wanted to become an actor. And play Indiana Jones. “These are movies for the whole world,” he said.

It would be extremely rude to reveal more of the plot, the film will not be released in Czech cinemas until June 29. We can only promise that there will also be time travel, that the chases and fights are imaginative and very well shot, and that Ford’s horse ride through the subway tunnel will probably go down in history as one of the funniest scenes in the film, which once again alternates action with humor.

Fans of Antonio Banderas will probably be a little disappointed by the fact that his role is so small that the actor, used to leading roles, probably accepted it as a joke. Maybe even to make his own mark in the legendary series. He succeeded.
