South Korea advanced to the final Sudirman Cup 2023 after beating Malaysia 3-1 in the semifinals. Now they are just waiting for the winner of China vs Japan as their opponent in the top party.

Compete at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center Court, Saturday (20/5) South Korea led 1-0 first through the mixed doubles sector after Seo Seung-jae/Chae Yu-jung won 11-21, 21-13, 21-7 over Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei in 51 minutes.

Malaysia evened the score to 1-1 in the second match after Lee Zii Jia won convincingly 21-11, 21-9 over Jeon Hyeok-jin. South Korea immediately returned to a 2-1 lead in the third game through the appearance of An Se-young who bulldozed Karupathevan Letshanaa 21-10, 21-13.


In the fourth match, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, who were more favored, were beaten 12-21, 11-21 by Kim Won-ho/Na Sung-seung, making South Korea lock in a 3-1 win and advance to their first final in six years.

Throughout history, South Korea has entered the Sudirman Cup final eight times and won four of them. Their last title was won in 2017 on the Gold Coast, Australia by beating China 3-2 after trailing twice.
