A full-fledged remake of 1994’s System Shock is almost ready, so if you missed the original game when it first came out, or if you can’t wait to relive that experience, then you might be looking forward to the release of this game. A new atmospheric trailer released today will help warm up your interest.
Set in the year 2072, this first-person game puts you in the shoes of a hacker who agrees to hack SHODAN, the artificial intelligence of Citadel Station. After falling into a coma, you wake up to find that the AI is out of order, and the team is dead, mutated or turned into cyborgs. The station has turned into a battlefield and you must stop SHODAN and overcome the various obstacles he puts in your way.
System Shock Remake, developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Prime Matter, will release on PC on May 30, 2023.
The game will also be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Linux and Mac OS, but no official release date has been announced at this time.
