We are living in a nightmare, soon we will be killing each other in the streets
These two photos are the personification of the traumatized Bulgarian society and the attitude towards it in Europe.
In the first frame, an employee of a well-known Bulgarian company is surfing on his mobile phone, while thousands of residents of the capital and guests of the city are crawling around the monument of Vasil Levski.
The renovation around the Apostle’s pedestal is proceeding at a medieval pace, as is that of the yellow paving stones. But this does not scare the contractor company, the important thing is to collect the millions from the reconstruction.
Apparently, the “people” at the top of the power do not realize that the endless hanging in traffic jams infuriates some of the drivers, they collect anger in their heads, which later erupts like a volcano and becomes the cause of terrible bloody accidents. But how can the political bosses realize this, after they ride in motorcades on special routes, and the black windows of their armored cars hide the annoying sight of the tortured common people.
The other frame is no less eloquent.
It shows Gate No. 33 at Frankfurt Airport, where the Bulgarians departing with Lufthansa are pushed. It is hardly a coincidence that the administration of one of the world’s largest facilities has pushed our compatriots to the most remote place under repair. This shows the true attitude of Germany and a large part of the West towards Bulgaria.
At the same time, politicians of various colors cheerfully explain to us how we are a full and equal member of the European Union and how much respect we receive. Nothing like that – “respect” is protocol, and pushing our compatriots to the most remote places of the airports is only a small part of the disgust with which our country enjoys abroad.
However, the Bulgarian politicians hardly care about the banter with the Bulgarian citizens at the European airports, after all, the highest-ranking of them travel on government planes and land on the VIPs with the money of the Bulgarian taxpayers.
Followed by artificial smiles, low bows and back to Bulgaria with the luxury of the state planes.
And here reality hits us like a tornado. Stealth repairs, stuffing people into a lane to crawl like cockroaches while others count wads. Aggression at all levels and hunched over pensioners rummaging through bins.
Is this what we deserved after years of tortured transition in which the youth and hopes of several generations sank?
Therefore, it is high time to come to our senses and stop the outrage.
