Hong Kong Man Arrested in Macau for Pretending to be Dubai Prince and Defrauding Mainland Man

The Macau Judiciary Police said that a Hong Kong man was arrested by the Macau Judicial Police on suspicion of pretending to be the Prince of Dubai in Macau to defraud a Mainland man.

Arrested for defrauding HK$360,000

The police said that a report was received in December last year. During a trip to Macau in November last year, a man from the Mainland claimed to be the prince of Dubai when he was dining in a hotel restaurant. He told him that he could sell it at a low price. concert tickets, and lobbied the owner to partner with him to open an investment company.

The prince of Dubai also falsely claimed to him that he had connections and could make money quickly. The victim was not afraid of fraud, and transferred more than 320,000 yuan (equivalent to about 362,000 Hong Kong dollars) to the other party, and then lost contact.

The judiciary police intercepted the 33-year-old Hong Kong man involved in the case at the Casino in the Royal District last Tuesday and transferred it to the Procuratorate.
