“Maukurs and Zivs” Series: Behind the Scenes with Writer Jānis Jonevs and Director Papa Chi Featuring Former Prime Minister Repše as Conductor

The authors of the fourth series “Maukurs and Zivs” are writer Jānis Jonevs and director Papa Chi.

“I had already mentioned to the director that one of my unfulfilled life dreams is to work as an actor,” reveals Repše.

Papa Chi remembers – it happened twenty years ago. “We were filming something related to politics, and he came up to me and said: “Young man, if you ever shoot a feature film, then you know – I have a dream to film in it!
This year I remembered what he said and everything came together well,” says the director.

Repše read the script and agreed – the role of conductor suits him.

“He prepared for this role better than any other actor in my experience,” Papa Chi praises the ex-premier.
