A chess session was organized on the occasion of the International Day of Museums

On the occasion of the International Day of Museums, a chess session was organized for people with physical disabilities. SIA reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Chess Federation that the session was held under the slogan “Global health and well-being” with the participation of international grandmaster Zeynab Mammadyarova.

Academician Naila Valikhanli, the general director of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, the first female chess grandmaster of the Islamic world, Aynur Sofiyeva, the vice-chairman of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Issues, Faig Hasanov, the vice-president of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Zeynab Mammadyarova, the director of the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex, and Baku were present at the event. Gunduz Valiyev, representative of the city’s Youth and Sports Department, participated.

Speaking guests said that such events, held for the purpose of integration of people with disabilities into society, support the development of sports skills of people from this class.

In the session, people of different age groups fought with the international grandmaster on 20 boards at the same time.

The participants were awarded with a letter of thanks on behalf of the National Azerbaijan History Museum for their active game.
