“Forty companies announced as finalists for the Ekommercijas Zvaigzne 2023 main prize.”

Forty companies that will compete for the “Ekommercijas Zvaigzne 2023” main prize have been determined. The jury has selected the companies in ten different categories, evaluating their quality, creative excellence, innovation and design.

The e-commerce annual award ceremony will take place in person in the premises of the Tallinn quarter “Tu Jau Zini Kur”, and the award ceremony will also be watched live on “Delfi TV”.

The total value of the prize fund of the “Ekommercijas Zvaigzne” competition is 20,000 euros, and 274 Latvian online stores have applied for this year’s competition.

At the award ceremony on June 2, gold, silver and bronze awards will be presented in ten different categories, and one of the companies will win the “Ecommerce Star 2023” Grand Prix. “This year, the most applications were received in categories such as “Exporters”, “Manufacturers”, “Service Providers”, as well as “Small Business”. It should be noted that there are also categories in which a smaller number of companies applied, such as “Sustainability”, ” and “Multi-branch shops”, but we see great potential and opportunities for Latvian companies to develop in these areas as well,” says Arnis Jēkabsons, the chairman of the jury of the “Ekomerzias Zvaigzne 2023” competition and the head of the digital agency “Element Digital”.

The participants’ applications were evaluated by an international jury of experienced industry professionals, including Māris Kulikovskis, head of the sales department of “Omniva”, Arnis Jēkabsons, head of “Element Digital”, Aija Miķelsone, head of the small and medium-sized business segment of “SEB Banka”, Ilze Saulīte, director of the personal service service of “LMT”, “EComHub” founder Gustavs Gotauts, “Joom” co-founder Jurijs Ivanovs, “Mozello” manager Kārlis Blumentāls, “Startin.lv” executive director Olga Barreto Goncalves, Estonian e-commerce association manager Tõnu Väät, “Stockmann” Baltic e-commerce manager Kristiāna Gruzīte , as well as Daividas Talijūnas, executive director of “All Digital Group”. In previous years, the main award or “Grand Prix” of “Ekommercijas Zvaigzne” has been won by such e-commerce companies as bicycle covers manufacturer “Velosock”, as well as ergonomic computer game controller manufacturer “Azeron”.

The “Star of E-commerce” competition took place for the first time in 2021, and its goal is to highlight the best e-commerce companies.
