Juanes releases his anticipated and acclaimed new album “Vida Cotidiana”

Juanes debuts his highly anticipated album ‘Vida Cotidiana’, marking the release of the first fully original studio album from the global ambassador of Latin music since ‘Más Futuro Que Pasado’ in 2019.

During this new creative cycle, Juanes combines his return to his electric guitar rock roots (starting with his recent Grammy and Latin Grammy-winning tribute album ‘Origen’), with his lauded songwriting skills, which he has utilized for the pandemic to take a more mature, introspective look at life, love, family, social concerns, and more.

The high praise he has received for his artistic vision on the singles he has anticipated suggests the album will be one of the standout Latin records of the year, and a new creative pinnacle in Juanes’ distinguished career.

“I think this is my best album as a musician, songwriter and artist. All of my previous experiments certainly hold true – but getting out of your comfort zone and feeling uncomfortable can be a transformative experience. This new session returns to the places that are closely connected to my essence… the current sounds and themes that come from the depths of my heart and soul”. – Juanes (from the complete biography of ‘Everyday Life’).

Cecilia

Video and incredible single “Cecilia” premieres – featuring Latin music legend Juan Luis Guerra, dedicated to Juanes’ wife, Karen Cecilia Martinez.

“I wrote ‘Cecilia’ as a response to another song on the album called ‘Grey’. ‘Gris’ was the dark side of a situation between me and my wife, and ‘Cecilia’ is about reconciliation. It is a song that talks about looking into each other’s eyes and still recognizing each other as a couple, overcoming differences and continuing to dance our life together. For me to have Juan Luis Guerra on the song is a great honor, and I feel proud of this incredible musical moment. This is a celebration of my love for Cecilia, of my family, of having been able to work with Juan Luis, and of my love for Caribbean music.” – Juanes

The video for “Cecilia”, directed by María Camila Calle, stars mainly Karen Martínez and the daughters of the Luna & Paloma couple during a vacation on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, and includes a personal serenade via FaceTime by Juan Luis Guerra, and ends with the appearance of Juanes and his son Dante, uniting the whole family.
