Dentist Member of Badung PDGI Reaches Peace Agreement with Restaurant Staff after Abuse Controversy

Cases of abuse committed by a dentist member of the Badung Indonesian Dentists Association (PDGI), Teguh Kelana, against restaurant staff Karen’s Diner Bali, Tiara G Alicia, ended in a peace agreement. North Kuta Police put forward restorative justice in the handling of this matter.

Reported detikBali, Friday (19/5/2023), Teguh Kelana and Tiara came to the North Kuta Police Headquarters this afternoon. Both of them came to fulfill the summons of the legal process through the restoration justice mechanism. In the end, both of them agreed to solve their problems amicably.

“Incoming reports, we have carried out actions according to the provisions, namely examining the parties to witnesses. However, in the course of this process, the parties submitted requests for restorative justice,” said North Kuta Police Chief Commissioner I Made Pramasetia to detikBali.

“We are carrying out an examination related to RJ’s wishes and after that we will submit all the files that will be fulfilled to the leadership. We will provide legal certainty (process) as soon as possible,” he added.

Previously, the video of Teguh Kelana abusing Tiara went viral on social media, and is known to have occurred on Sunday (14/5), at 14.58 WITA, in a restaurant. Teguh suddenly approached one of the staff Karen’s Diner named Sahrul and immediately hit him because he was offended that his doctor’s title was not mentioned.

The victim Tiara then approached Teguh Kelana to tell him the rules of the game Karen’s Dinerbut Teguh Kelana got even angrier and abused Tiara by grabbing, pushing and slapping her.

“He (Teguh Kelana) is a member of the Badung Branch of PDGI,” PDGI Bali Chairman Agus Sundia Atmaja told detikBali when asked for confirmation today.
