Thanks for the support I get from the DPS and There’s a People groups, for a clear vision of an expert government with a mandate and united priorities. This was stated by the candidate for prime minister of GERB-SDS Maria Gabriel.
A triple meeting for support for a government was held in the parliament between GERB, DPS and ITN. The meeting is three days before Gabriel goes to the presidency. The candidate for prime minister explained that on Monday he will present a folder with the names of the ministers.
The three groups have 116 representatives in the parliament. BSP and PP-DB have announced that they will not support the first mandate. Gabriel did not say where her missing five parliamentary votes would come from.
“We have no worries. Life is colorful, but I don’t expect our MPs to vote for the first mandate”, emphasized Nikolay Denkov from “We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria”.
“We are making efforts to find a way out of the political crisis,” stated the chairman of the DPS, Mustafa Karadai.
Changes to the Basic Law
“Now is the time for constitutional reform and the parties that want it must support us,” emphasized Maria Gabriel.
Earlier today, GERB leader Boyko Borisov stated on the sidelines of the parliament that a constitutional government is an option because the change in the Constitution also requires at least 160 votes.
It is logical to look for the implementation of constitutional reform with the second mandate, he commented to journalists the co-chairman ofDemocratic Bulgaria” Hristo Ivanov and pointed out that they have been carriers of this idea for many years.
“We will support an expert cabinet, and it will not be at GERB. We haven’t talked about names yet. Hristo Ivanov spoke of a constitutional majority. It’s very nice that it works. His law practice is zero hours,” commented Toshko Yordanov from “There is such a people”.
