Georgia issued a flight permit for the Russian airline Red Wings.
This is reported “European Truth” with reference to the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia.
According to the Georgian regulator, from June the company will operate flights from Sochi to Tbilisi and from Moscow to Kutaisi. Flights on the routes will be carried out three times a week.
Red Wings has not yet come under Western sanctions. Ukraine imposed sanctions against it in 2021. The company’s aircraft are partially under arrest in absentia in connection with flights to the occupied Crimea.
The company became the third air carrier admitted to air communication between the Russian Federation and Georgia – earlier permissions were received by Georgian Airways and Azimuth.
Recall that on May 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin abolished the visa regime for citizens of Georgia and at the same time lifted the flight ban Russian airlines to Georgia.
