“Bishop Briggs wins Season 9 of ‘The Masked Singer’ in shocking finale”

“The Masked Singer” has a new winner – and you wouldn’t guess who it is.

In the finale on Wednesday, May 17, the final two celebrity contestants each performed two new songs. Macaw gave it his best shot performing James Bay’s ‘Hold Back The River’ and Eric Carmen’s ‘All by Myself’.

Medusa sang My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to The Black Parade” and Sia’s “Elastic Heart” for a chance to win the Golden Mask trophy.

The macaw had been popular in the competition. After a jaw-dropping April episode, in which he performed Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph,” people guessed it was “American Idol” alum David Archuleta.

And they were right, as the 32-year-old singer was unveiled as the runner-up winner.

Panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Robin Thicke, Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong all knew it was the “Crush” singer.

As for the big reveal of the season nine winner, it was none other than Bishop Briggs.

Scherzinger correctly guessed it was the “River” singer, while Thicke believed it was Grimes, McCarthy Wahlberg said it was Fergie, and Jeong chose Susan Boyle.

“Oh my god, this is the craziest, coolest thing ever,” Briggs said after his unmasking. ” Thank you so much. Wow, that’s so cool.

Briggs also praised his “huge competitor, David Archuleta.”

“When I heard you at soundcheck, I was like, ‘Oh no, but oh yes,'” she said. “It’s really been such a surreal journey and the fact that I got to sing an emo anthem means so much because when I heard David’s story I was like, ‘Oh my God. Look at us, some emo kids here on this stage not knowing who we are, not knowing if we wanted to go on and we did.
