On the eve of the summer school holidays from May 22 to May 31, the Belarusian Railway is holding a set of events “Children and Safety”, reports press center of BZD.
The purpose of the action is to prevent and prevent child injuries and deaths of minors at railway transport facilities,
Traditionally, workers of the Belarusian railway will organize meetings with schoolchildren in educational institutions and children’s health camps located in the immediate vicinity of the railway, and will hold explanatory and preventive talks.
Also, as part of the action, raids will be carried out, during which special attention will be paid to children and adolescents who are unattended by adults near railway tracks, at railway stations, stations and on trains.
By the way, work to prevent accidents involving minors at railway transport facilities is carried out on the Belarusian Railway on a regular basis. Despite all the measures taken, since the beginning of 2023, 34 cases of non-occupational injuries have occurred at railway transport facilities, which is 8 cases more than in the same period of 2022. 35 citizens were injured, of which 1 was a minor: 24 people died and 11 were injured. About 34% of the victims were at the railway transport facilities in a state of intoxication.
The main causes of accidents are still the disregard of elementary safety measures by citizens.
