“Man dies in apartment fire on rue Sainte-Cécile, Strasbourg: 5 injured”

A fire broke out in an apartment on rue Sainte-Cécile on Wednesday afternoon. Forty firefighters are on site.

A 56-year-old man died this Wednesday at the end of the day in an apartment fire that broke out on rue Sainte-Cécile in the Neudorf district of Strasbourg, firefighters told BFM Alsace.

Five injured

The fire started on the second floor of a building. The victim was found in cardio-respiratory arrest and was declared dead by the doctor present on the scene. Five other people were slightly injured and taken care of by the emergency services.

Forty firefighters are on site. Firefighters recommend avoiding the area and facilitating access to emergency services.

The fire was extinguished by means of a water hose, say the firefighters but the intervention is still in progress.
