The candidate for president of the Coalition for Change for Unity, Anies Baswedan, expressed his concern over the appointment of NasDem Secretary General Johnny G Plate as a suspect in the BTS project. He said this after meeting with the general chairman (Ketum) of NasDem, Surya Paloh tonight.

At that meeting, Anies said he was concerned about the case that ensnared NasDem Secretary General Johnny G Plate. However, on the other hand, he also admitted that he was amazed by the figure of Surya Paloh who remained consistent in his principles.
“I am proud of Bang Surya Paloh, tonight we met, we discussed, I witnessed an atmosphere of concern that we all feel, I also feel extraordinary concern,” Anies told reporters after the meeting with Paloh.
“But on the other hand, I witnessed someone who was consistent, someone who was persistent, someone who was firm in holding on to principles, holding a commitment no matter how big the trials and challenges that had to be faced for attitude, for the choices made,” he continued.
The former Governor of DKI Jakarta said that Paloh was a true nationalist. Because according to him, the stance taken by Paloh at this time has major consequences for Surya Paloh and his party.
“So many people say A, B, C, D, E, about us and Bang Surya Paloh as true nationalism, conducting tests, conducting proofs, monitoring and arriving at his stance,” he added.
Anies stated that they took a stand to deal with what was happening at this time. He believes that everything will side with the truth.
“The big challenge, God willing, can be passed if the belief is there. And tonight I witnessed that up close,” he said.
“Earlier I explained that nothing would change our endeavor to work,” he explained.
Previously, Surya Paloh and the NasDem elites held a press conference regarding the arrest and detention of Minister of Communication and Information Johnnya G Plate by the Attorney General’s Office.
On that occasion, Surya Paloh admitted that he was sad and concerned about the case that ensnared Johnny.
“I understand that a case like this is not the first time this party has faced it, but for what happened this time to the Secretary General of the NasDem Party, our brother, Johnny Plate, I say once again that we grieve for this,” said Paloh at the NasDem DPP office, Central Jakarta , Wednesday (17/5).
He admits trying not to show sadness. Paloh said the atmosphere at the NasDem office was different today.
“We are in an atmosphere full of concern, sadness that is difficult for us to cover,” he said.
