Belarus and Russia condemn the actions of Western countries aimed at fomenting and prolonging the Ukrainian crisis. This is stated in a joint statement by the heads of departments of the two countries, Sergei Aleinik and Sergei Lavrov.
The foreign ministers of Belarus and Russia said that the countries are jointly addressing external threats to common security, resisting sanctions and pressure, as well as attempts to interfere in internal affairs.
“We condemn the actions of Western states aimed at fomenting and prolonging the Ukrainian crisis. We believe that it can be settled by politico-diplomatic methods and stand for the return of Ukraine to a neutral non-bloc status and its rejection of the Nazi and militaristic nature of state policy,” underlined in a joint statement.
Recall that Russia is conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. Belarus does not officially participate in it. At the same time, Minsk emphasizes its support for Moscow’s actions. One of the goals of the SVO, according to the statement Vladimir Putin, is the return to Ukraine of its neutral status, which was approved in 1990 by the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of the country.
