Renowned Syrian Director Hisham Sharbatji Passes Away at 75

Yesterday, the great Syrian director passed away from our world Hisham Sharbatji After suffering from illness, it is scheduled that the funeral of the deceased will be held today in Egypt after the Maghrib prayer from the Al-Hamidiya Al-Shazliya Mosque in the Mohandessin area, but in Damascus on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 10:30.

Hisham Sharbatji is considered one of the founders of the drama industry in Syria, and one of the most prominent Syrian directors, as he was born on March 2, 1948, in the Al-Muhajireen neighborhood in Damascus, then he traveled to Egypt and studied at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Egypt, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree, and after that he traveled to Germany and continued his artistic studies there and obtained a master’s degree in theatre.

His works were also very popular in all Arab countries because of the comedic character that he carried, and the late was called “Sheikh Al-Kar.” He also had the biggest imprint when he launched, with Yasser Al-Azma, the famous Syrian comedy series, and then a series of other works, the most important of which are Jamil and Hana, and the 5-Star Family. , and many more.

The Filmmakers Syndicate and the Arab Artists Union, headed by director Massad Fouda, mourned the Syrian director Hisham Sharbatji, who passed away after a tender journey that affected the Syrian and Arab screens with creative works.
