Erfurt – At this year’s Abitur exam in Thuringia, a task that was already used in 2021 was set. The elective task from the history high school diploma with an increased requirement profile was included in a post-secondary high school diploma exam in the year before last, the Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday on request. At that time, however, only ten schools had requested the tasks. The news portal “Tag 24” had previously reported on the breakdown.
According to a ministry spokeswoman, there are currently no plans to repeat the exams. “We assume that only a very small number of students could be affected by the error.” In addition, the exams are designed in such a way that they test historical skills. The sources used, the material and the tasks themselves are only exemplary and interchangeable.
The ministry understands this error as a work order to improve quality management, the spokeswoman continued. First, however, the exact circumstances of the procedural error would have to be worked out. Only then can action be taken.
It’s not the first Abitur exams this year with problems. In North Rhine-Westphalia there was a technical breakdown at the beginning of the tests. Not all students were able to download the tasks of some subjects. The start of the exam has been postponed by one day.
In Saxony-Anhalt, the students were given substitute tasks for the Abitur examinations in history after the original topics had been leaked out.
