“Thai Goalkeeper Soponwit Rakyart Involved in Commotion During Indonesia vs Thailand SEA Games 2023 Final”

It’s not the first time that Thailand’s goalkeeper Soponwit Rakyart has been the culprit of a commotion such as the match against U-22 Indonesian National Team on finals SEA Games 2023.

Soponwit acted emotionally in the hot match between Indonesia vs Thailand in the first round of extra time. The 22-year-old goalkeeper was caught hitting the U-22 Indonesian national team player, Komang Teguh Trisnanda.

Komang Teguh replied to Soponwit’s unsportsmanlike action. The Borneo FC player threw a counter-punch even though it looked like he missed Soponwit.

Soponwit was expelled by the referee because of his unsportsmanlike behavior. Komang Teguh also received a similar fate.

Apart from the two of them, two Thai officials and an Indonesian national team striker, Titan Agung, was also sent off by referee Matar Ali Al Hatmi following the incident that occurred.

It seems that Soponwit’s inappropriate behavior is not the first time this has happened. The Phrae United player who appeared in Thai League 2 was once involved in a commotion during the Phrae match against Trat FC.

Reported from Thairath, Soponwit was provoked when an opposing player kicked him while in control of the ball. Soponwit, who had fallen, got up and hunted down the Trat FC players.

Soponwit and the Trat FC players got into a fight on the side of the goal. The incident made players from both teams rush to separate the fight that occurred between the two.

Soponwit and friends had to acknowledge the might of the U-22 Indonesian National Team in the 2023 SEA Games final. The Garuda Muda team won a landslide victory 5-2 in a match marked by seven red cards at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh, Tuesday (16/5) evening Indonesian time .
